Im Na-yeon, better known as Nayeon, is a South Korean singer and the eldest member of TWICE, one of the most successful K-pop girl groups under JYP Entertainment.
Early Life and Career Beginnings
Nayeon was born on September 22, 1995, in Seoul, South Korea. As a child, she secretly auditioned for JYP Entertainment’s Open Audition in 2010 without telling her parents.
She passed and became a trainee, setting the foundation for her future in the K-pop industry.
Sixteen & TWICE’s Debut
In 2015, she participated in the reality survival show SIXTEEN, where JYP Entertainment selected members for a new girl group.
She was a fan favorite throughout the competition and secured a spot in TWICE, which debuted on October 20, 2015, with the song “Like OOH-AHH.”
